All my lessons, no matter what ability the student, will cover these topics through the songs we choose together:

Rhythm & Technique

Constructing good postural & finger positioning to unlock efficient and accurate technique along with breaking down and internalizing rhythms using aural/visual aids to play phrases accurately.

Harmony & Melody

Opening up the fretboard to visualise various triad voicings, extended chords with alternations, scales, articulations and ornamentations.

Reading Sheet Music

Incorporating the use of Standard Notation/TAB in our lessons as visual aids in learning music, along with giving you a medium to practice with outside of lesson.

Ear Training

Identifying chords, intervals and rhythms aurally and connecting your inner ear to your instrument so you can improvise and learn music by just hearing it.

Improvisation

Guiding you in developing musical language through active listening, aurally transcribing music and using limitation exercises to push you to be more creative.

Music Theory

Learning this really helps you get why music sounds the way it does and how it all fits together, we will cover elements of theory in relation to our progression of our lessons.
